چکیده

The title of a paper presented at ITC in 1998 posed an interesting question: “High Speed TestingHave the laws of Physics finally caught up with us?” [1]. At say 10 GHz clock rates, the period is only 100ps and accurate testing may require control of logic transitions with picosecond accuracy. Indeed it seems as though we are quickly running out of spare picoseconds. The job of producing and measuring such signals is hard enough. Yet some of the toughest problems have to do with simply getting the signals to and from the device-under-test. Signal integrity and interfacing issues are usually critical to the success of a multigigahertz test. Add to these electrical performance challenges the ever-present pressure to reduce costs, and we have a problem that involves careful trade-offs between technical needs and economic demands.

Multi-Gigahertz Digital Test Challenges and Techniques

1. Introduction The clock frequency of high performance VLSIs has exceeded 2GHz. Over the years, aggressive scaling of CMOS process technology has resulted in a 30% annual performance improvement for digital circuits. However, tester speed has improved by only 12% every year. Figure 1 shows data from the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS'01) [1], for device under test pe...

Challenges in Well Testing Data from Multi-layered Reservoirs and Improving Nonlinear Regression: A Gas filed case

Well test analysis of multi-layer reservoir comprises several parts. The first part concerns the estimation of parameters values and next considers finding an appropriate method to determine the unknown reservoir parameters. If the initial estimations are less accurate and weak, the final assessment may lead to incorrect results, which are totally different from the reality. Utilizing Automated...

Our ability to extract the maximal amount of information from future observations at gigahertz frequencies depends on our ability to separate the underlying cosmic microwave background (CMB) from galactic and extragalactic foregrounds. We review the separation problem and its formulation within Bayesian inference, give examples of specific solutions with particular choices of prior density, and...
